About Wheeler Acupuncture and Functional Wellness

Medication free solutions to many chronic and acute health conditions. When you think you have tried everything and given up hope - call us. We are happy to help you with your health and nutrition needs in St. Charles, Mo.

After studying nutrition at Arizona State University and preparing to enter the pharmaceutical field, Heather was involved in a car accident that left her with pain. At the advice of her MD, a few relaxing and painless acupuncture treatments quickly resolved her pain. She then continued the treatments to manage chronic endometriosis. Acupuncture and some nutritional changes proved to be very effective and allowed her to avoid medications. That experience taught Heather that pain is not something to be ignored and masked, but should be explored and treated at the source. After all, it is our body's "check engine light!"

Functional Medicine would quickly become a passion when Heather struggled with secondary fertility issues. Not one to sit back and wait for answers, she pursued information. That's when she discovered she had a genetic mutation known as MTHFR. After consulting with experts in the field of genetics, and undergoing another round of diet and lifestyle change, Heather completed her family with a second son. At that point, she knew functional medicine and wellness had to be an essential part of patient care and is constantly pursuing this rapidly evolving area of wellness.
